About Dr. Hom

A bridge between conventional and holistic women’s health.

Dr. Katherine Hom is passionate about evidence-informed, whole-person care and about helping women make the best health care decisions for themselves.

She studied biochemistry and cell biology at UC San Diego, earned her medical degree at UC Irvine School of Medicine and completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she received the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine’s Highest Award for Excellence in Obstetrics. She then practiced as an OB/GYN hospitalist at Palomar Health in Escondido, where she was named Best Doctor of the Year for postpartum care.

Along the way she trained in integrative and functional medicine under Dr. Aviva Romm, and in 2026 she graduated from UC Irvine’s Integrative and Functional Medicine Fellowship under Tieraona Low Dog, MD, where she now mentors current fellows. She is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) and a Women’s Hormone Therapy Specialist, with further training in medical acupuncture, herbalism, Ayurvedic postpartum care, Reiki and yoga, including prenatal yoga.

Postpartum care is a particular passion. Dr. Hom is Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of Mone Wellness, a postpartum and baby support app, and writes its evidence-informed guides for new mothers.

She’s committed to women’s global health. She has supported births at Bumi Sehat in Bali, taught obstetric ultrasound in Tanzania and Panama, and coordinated women’s health for clinics in Mexico.
